Sign the Motor Parkway Greenway Eastward Petition

We are making real progress! New York State recently completed a feasibility study on extending the Motor Parkway through Creedmoor. For several reasons we are going to switch from Change.org to the NYC Campaigns platform. Please sign the new petition here: https://campaigns.transalt.org/petition/complete-motor-parkway-bike-ped-path-connect-it-mp-trail-nassau Please tell all your friends and family to sign the new petition. Thanks, - The Motor Parkway Team

The Motor Parkway Greenway is an amazing recreational and commuting space for running, biking and walking in Eastern Queens. It is also part of the Brooklyn-Queens Greenway, which connects Bayside and Coney Island. The problem is, neighborhood residents of Glen Oaks, Douglaston, Floral Park, Bellaire, Bellerose, Little Neck and New Hyde Park who want to use the Motor Parkway can't easily access it.

Currently, Nassau County is building a 14 mile trail on the remains of the Motor Parkway. Once Nassau County's Motor Parkway Trail opens, there will be two great greenways near these neighborhoods, but there will be a gap of connectivity between the greenways.

When the Motor Parkway was given to the City of New York, it was made a park from Fresh Meadows to the City Line. Today 2.5 miles of this park is missing, building the Motor Parkway East will restore the history of Eastern Queens and make transportation and recreation safer for residents of Eastern Queens.
